Montez, Andres, Mrs. (Julia M. Ramos)

Julia M. Montez, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Montez was born April 6, 1933, in Escobares, Texas, to Feliberto and Martina Ramos. She married Andres Montez in August 1964. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2016.

She is survived by two daughters, Edelmira Chavez and husband Ernest of Amarillo and Nelly Montez of Lubbock; two sons, Frank Estrada and wife Yvette of Plainview and Eliseo "Alex" Montez and wife Evelyn of San Antonio; two brothers, Raymundo Munoz of Roma, Texas, and Mario Munoz of Angleton, Texas; one sister, Olivia Munoz of Donna, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
