Gilbert, Kenny

Kenny Gilbert, 58, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with his nephew Jeremy Gilbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Kenny was born Nov. 3, 1958, in Plainview to Jim and Etta Gilbert. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1977. He worked for the Plainview Fire Department for several years. He also worked for Bill Brown and Alignment and UPS before going into construction. He worked for Hastey Construction for over 25 years. Kenny was a true history buff and loved anything to do with the Civil War. He was also an avid collector and loved antiques. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Plainview and a proud member of the NRA.

Kenny was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie DeLyn Davis.

Survivors include his two sons, Trevor Gilbert and wife Danielle of Plainview, Trace Gilbert and wife Kassie of Plainview; parents, Jim and Etta Gilbert of Plainview; brother, Mike Gilbert and wife Donna of Lubbock; brother-in-law, George Davis of Littlefield; six grandchildren, Payton, Kaycie, Nautica, Kenleigh, Zaccariah, Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
