Lou Ellen Burson, 91, of Mineral Wells Texas, formerly of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Plainview Memorial Park with Quanah Shugart officiating.

Lou Ellen was born on August 30, 1925 in Breckenridge, Texas to John Lane Steele and Oma Lee (Davis) Steele. She married Todd Edd Burson on January 18, 1947 in Graham, Texas. Todd Edd was part of the Plainview Police Department and the Sheriff's Office for many years. They raised three children in Plainview and remained here until his passing on December 4, 1992.

Lou Ellen had such a sweet spirit and was a kind, loving wife, mother and friend. When asked what her hobbies were, her family responds with, "Whatever anyone needed that was her hobby." She lived a life of serving others and assuring that they were content and well. Lou Ellen graduated from Lippert's Business School in 1952 and worked many years serving Hale County in the Justice Department. She and her husband raised their children attending Parkview Baptist Church until the kids grew up and moved away. Once they were gone, she and Todd Edd attended Seth Ward Baptist Church. Later in life she attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Lou Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 45 years, Todd Edd Burson. Also preceding her were two brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Nikki Shugart and husband Quanah of Weatherford, TX; two sons, Todd Burson and wife Sue of Tulsa, OK and Roy Terrill Burson and wife Doris of Azle, TX; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as two sisters, Yvonne Tanner of Mineral Wells and Emma Bean of Wimberley, TX.

Lou and her laugh will be greatly missed!
