Cerda, Margarito, Mrs. (Barbara Ortiz)

Barbara Cerda, 90, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Plainview. Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Phillip Hamilton officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, from 7-8 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas.
She was born in Fort Chadbourne, Texas, on Feb. 20, 1926, to Pedro and Marcella Ortiz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Marcella Ortiz; her husband Margarito Cerda; two brothers, Herbert and Simon Ortiz; two sisters Pauline Puentes and Gloria Cerda.

She is survived by four children, Jaime Cerda of Plainview, Texas, Maria Recio of Amarillo, Texas, Reynaldo Cerda of Claremore, Okla., and Fernando Cerda of Del Rio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Ortiz of Plainview, Texas, David Ortiz of Big Lake, Texas and Tommy Ortiz of Andrews, Texas.
