Gonzales, Arturo

Arturo Gonzales, 63, of Plainview, went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2017, surrounded by family. There are no services pending at this time.

Arturo was born October 6, 1953, in Ganado, Texas to Cosme and Guadalupe (Rosalez) Gonzales. He joined the U.S. Army in April, 1977. He married Linda Garza and they had four sons: Arturo Gonzales, Jr., Lorenzo Gonzales, Michael Gonzales and Christopher Gonzales. After their marriage ended, he married Sheila Oskay in July, 1992. They had three daughters, Jessica Jean Gonzales, Maria Lupe Gonzales and Selena Lynn Gonzales. They later divorced.

Arturo lived an active life. He enjoyed spending time with family. His passion was fishing and he knew every lake, river, stream and every fishing spot around. He also enjoyed exploring the outdoors which included hunting, fishing or cruising the country side. His interests included listening to music and watching old western movies and his two favorite cowboys were John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son Arturo; and two brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Lorenzo Gonzales of Lockney, Michael Gonzales and Christopher Gonzales both of Denton; three daughters, Jessica Gonzales, Maria Gonzales and Selena Gonzales of Tennessee; 7 sisters; one brother and 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
