Guerra, Ramiro P.

Ramiro P. Guerra, 93, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Guerra was born May 28, 1923, to Fernando and Dorotea Perez Guerra in Bastrop, Texas. He married Maria Ester Arredondo in January 1945 in Spur, Texas. She preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2002. Mr. Guerra was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by five daughters, Irene Hipolito and husband David of Plainview, Rose Vigliante of Brewton, Ala., Erma Cardenas of Brewton, Ala., Velia Guerra-Taylor and husband Jimmy of Amarillo and Janie Davis of Covington, La.; two sons, Ramiro Guerra Jr. and wife Alison of New Orleans, La., and Fernando Hector Guerra and wife Diana of LaPlace, La.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
