Wood, Ronnie, Mrs. (Barbara Jean Cooper)

Barbara Jean Wood, 77, of Plainview passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Gayle Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held at Kornerstone from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Barbara was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Whitewright, Texas, to James and Geneva Cooper. Barbara was always kind hearted, bubbly, full of life and had a great since of humor. She was always a friend when you needed one. She was also a great wife and mother.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Daniel Wimberly; and a brother Dale Cooper.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie Wood of Plainview; two sons, Doyl Kenneth Wimberly Jr. and wife Juanita of Illinois and Robert Michael Wimberly and wife Darla of Plainview; two brothers, Jerry Cooper and wife Becky of Tulia and James Cooper and wife Emma of Tulia; two sisters, Gale Roberts of Plainview and Patsy Smith and husband Tony of Tyler; two grandchildren, Catherine Wimberly and Hannah Wimberly.
