Obituary

McCoy, William Clyde,Jr.

Memorial services for William Clyde McCoy Jr., 67, of Plainview will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Plainview Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 12th and Nassau with Elder Patricia Verner and Danny Laymon officiating.

Mr. McCoy died in his home on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.

He was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Tyler, Texas, to William Clyde McCoy and Willette Loving McCoy.

The McCoy family moved to Plainview in 1953. Clyde (as family and friends called him) attended Southwestern Adventist University and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Theology and English Communication. He home-schooled his nephew for two years. He was a teacher's aide at the Plainview High School for five years. He loved playing the organ and cooking was his specialty. He also had a special talent for interior decorating. The many family and friends that had dinner in his home were treated as royalty and treated to a delicious meal. His table settings were a sight to behold.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Clyde McCoy, who passed away in 1972 and his mom, Willette Loving McCoy, who passed away in 2000, both in Plainview.

Survivors include his brother, Jonathan of Plainview; a sister, Susan Hristov of San Antonio; a niece, Laura Tyler and spouse Chad of Draper, Utah; a nephew, Alan Jarzynka of Virginia; a great-niece Olivia and great-nephew Jimmy of Draper, Utah.
