Gonzalez, Baldemar, Mrs. (Elizabeth Diaz)

Elizabeth D. Gonzalez, 81, of Lubbock, passed away on November 9, 2016.

The Gonzalez family will receive visitors from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born April 23, 1935 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Jose N. and Epigme?a (Luna) Diaz. She married Baldemar Gonzalez on April 23, 1952 in Carrizo Springs. They were married until his passing in February, 2015.

Elizabeth was a member of Emmanuel Worship Center in Lubbock, Texas. She was a homemaker who adored her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family and friends. Her family lovingly recalls that you would just be finishing up lunch and she would enthusiastically ask what everyone wanted for dinner! Having everyone gathered in her home was a delight to her. Elizabeth surprised many and impressed her family by obtaining her G.E.D. in her 50's and went on to attain college credits proving that it's never too late to follow your dreams. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Baldemar Gonzalez and several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons; Ramiro Gonzales and wife Silvia of Lubbock and Carlos Gonzalez and wife Dana of Spring Lake, MI, one daughter; Susie Gonzales, three grandchildren; Lisa Gonzales McGee and husband Charlie of Lubbock, Brian Gonzalez and wife Devon of Kenai, Alaska, Danielle Gonzales, three great-grandchildren; Makaiah J'nae McGee, Malakai Joseph McGee and Ava Renay Ivey. She is also survived by several siblings.
