Chandler, Johnny, Mrs. (Cathy Milstead)

Cathy Milstead Chandler, 66, of Amarillo went to be with her Lord on November 7, 2016 in Amarillo. A graveside memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Tim Marrow of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Cathy was born into the family of Eldon and Marie Milstead on August 21, 1950. Cathy graduated from Plainview High school She met the love of her life, Johnny Chandler of Lockney. They married on June 15, 1968 at Seth Ward Baptist Church. Johnny and Cathy moved to Waco on and later moved to Abilene where there 1st child, Stacey, was born. They later moved back to Plainview where their second child, Christy Marie was born but who?s life was cut short and died after heart surgery in 1974. Johnny and Cathy moved back to Abilene where they were blessed with an adoption of Cathy Leigh in 1975. Cathy loved camping and fishing and she and Johnny loved the outdoors. After Cathy?s health started failing she turned her backyard into a beautiful botanical garden. Her flowers were her solace and peace.

Cathy was preceded in death by her daughter Christy; her parents Eldon and Marie Milstead; brother, Richard Milstead; and a sister, Diane McAninch.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Johnny of Amarillo; daughter, Stacey Herman and husband Jeff of Amarillo; daughter, Cathy Leigh Freeman of Shreveport, LA; granddaughter Charity Freeman of Robinville, NC; a grandson, John Herman and fianc?? Ashley Friday of Amarillo; grandson, Dewayne Williams of Shreveport, LA; granddaughter, Sierra Milstead of Plainview; one Great granddaughter, RaeLynn Soots of Robinville, NC. She is also survived by a Sister Ginny and husband Jack Young of Weatherford; a brother, David Milstead and wife Annette of Plainview.

The family will be at the Home of David Milstead 2618 Faulkner after 1:00 pm

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
