Diaz, Valeriano, Mrs. (Victoriana Garza)

Victoriana G. Diaz, 75, of Plainview, passed away on Sept. 28, 2016.

There will be a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Victoriana was born on July 28, 1941, in Edinburg, Texas, to Gerardo and Guadalupe (Rosales) Garza. She married Valeriano Diaz on April 24, 1959. They were married for 50 years until his passing in 2009.

Victoriana was a kind, loving woman whose goal in life was to serve everyone she loved. She enjoyed cooking for any and everyone who came around. She is described as a second mom to her grandchildren and even to her siblings. She is remembered for her amazing generosity concerning lunch time meals she provided for anyone who came around to get fed at "Granny's." She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Valeriano; one great-grandson, Jorge Luis Tinoco Jr.; one brother, Macario Garza; and one sister, Diana Hodges.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Leticia Tinoco, Anna Diaz and Melba Herrera, all of Plainview; two sons, Jos? Diaz of San Juan, Texas and Marco Diaz of Plainview; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ram?n Garza, Margarito Garza and Juan Garza; and three sisters, Luc?a Sanchez, Teresa Zambrano and Bertha Garza.
