Zapata, Frederico

Funeral Mass for Frederico Zapata, 56 of Plainview will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Phillipe Pasupil officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Zapata was born April 24, 1960 in Austin, Minnesota to Miguel and Margarita Sepeda Zapata. He died Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Lubbock. He married Trinidad Perez on January 21, 1980 in Plainview. He is survived by his wife, Trinidad "Sonia" Zapata of the home; 2 sons, Edward and Cynthia Zapata and Frederico, Jr. and Annabell Zapata both of Plainview; 2 daughters, Priscilla and Phillip Navarro and Jennifer and Froylan Diaz both of Plainview; his father, Miguel Zapata of Plainview; 4 brothers, Cristobal and Alice Zapata of Plainview, Jorge and Dawn Zapata, Mario and Jaime Zapata and Juanito Zapata all of Owatana, Minnesota; 3 sisters, Gloria and Leo Castillo of Temple, Irma and Tomas Pineda of Owatana, Minnesota and Delia and Hector Montes of Uvalde, Texas; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rudy and Rebecca Mendoza; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margarita Zapata.
