Rowell, Owen, Mrs. (Mary Frances Lockhart)

Mary Frances Lockhart Rowell, 91, of Hale Center, went to her heavenly home on August 23, 2016. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Church of Christ in Hale Center with Mr. Silas Short and Mr. Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors Family Center in Hale Center from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, August 26, 2016.

Mary was born February 28, 1925 in Claude, Texas to Willie Knox and Mary Cindy Belle Lockhart. She married the love of her life, Owen Chester Rowell on July 7, 1942. Together they raised five children. Mary was a faithful Christian woman. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She also worked for Plainview Oil & Butane and McGavock's Motors for several years. Moving to Hale Center in 1950, Mary was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved to read and was an accomplished seamstress. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Owen Rowell of Hale Center, daughters, Edith and Joe M. Byrd of Plainview and Linda and Bob Miller of Whitewright; sons, Carl and Vicki Rowell of Hale Center, David and Renee Rowell of Hale Center, and Albert and Terry Rowell of Lubbock. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hale Center Health and Rehab Center and Area Community Hospice for their care and kindness.
