Amelia was born on February 8, 1924 in Matamoros, Coahuilla, Mexico to Severiano Castro and Maria Antonia Martinez. She married Pascual Flores in 1942 and together they shared a love that spanned over sixty years until his passing in October, 2009.

Amelia was a loving, kind, gentle, Godly woman with a great sense of humor. To sit in a room with her grandchildren is to find out what an amazing person she was to them. She is described as an Angel, sweet, nurturing and a person who remained active throughout her lifetime. She loved being a mother and loved all ten of her "babies". She was precious to her family and will be deeply missed. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Pascual and two grandchildren, Jos? Guadalupe Salas and Jesus Chavarria; three brothers, Mariano Castro, Alfonso Castro and Pedro Castro and two sisters, Mar?a Del Refugio and Cuca Castro.

Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Mar?a DeLaLuz Flores de Chavarria, Mar?a Guadalupe Salas, Amelia Ruiz and Lydia Sifuentes; six sons, Manuel Flores, Librado Flores, Salvador Flores, Raymundo Flores, Antonio Flores and Pascual Flores. She's also survived by 39 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
