Prater, Joseph Weldon (Joe), Mrs. (Ruth Faye Denison)

Ruth Faye Prater, 97, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, in Lubbock. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 10, 2009, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Interment was in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Ruth was born June 28, 1912, to W.H. and Cordelia Denison in Palmer, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Halfway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Prater, and a grandson, Jarrod McCurry. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Doris Marie Palmer of Sun City, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Baynetta Jordan of Lubbock and Roger McCurry of Sherman; and her great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ben and Maggie Jordan. Memorials in Ruth's name may be made to The Haven Animal Shelter or the Humane Society.
