Montez, Andres Mauro

Andres Mauro Montez, 81, passed away March 21, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Montez was born Nov. 30, 1934, in McAllen, Texas, to Inez and Tranquillina Montez. He married Julia Munoz in August 1964. Mr. Montez retired from the City of Plainview. He was preceded in death by one son, Noel Montez; and one brother, Inez Montez Jr. He is survived by his wife Julia Montez of Plainview; two daughters, Edelmira Chavez and husband Ernest of Amarillo and Nelly Montez of Lubbock; two sons, Frank Estrada and wife Yvette of Plainview and Eliseo "Alex" Montez and wife Evelyn of San Antonio; one brother, Antonio Montez of Hoopston, Illinois; two sisters, Delfina Mesa of Edinburg and Sara Vega of McAllen; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
