Trevino, Jesus M., Mrs. (Pura Rodriguez)

Pura Trevino, 94, formerly of Plainview passed away on March 4, 2016 in Amarillo surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow immediately in Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Sunday from 12-8 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. in the chapel at Lemons Funeral Home.
Pura was born on Nov. 20, 1921 in Musquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to Pioquinto and Augustina (Juarez) Rodriguez. She was married to Jesus M. Trevino for over 40 years. Her hobbies included gardening, caring for her pecan trees, baking (especially the famous Trevino Wedding Cookies) and being with family and friends. She was a faithful employee of Frisco Bakery for 35 years.
Pura was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus M. Trevino; her daughter, Elisenda Trevino; 2 sisters, Feliz Serna and Irma Rosa Mendoza; and a brother, Fidel Rodriguez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Blanca Benavides and Anna Maria Trevino, both of Amarillo and Jose Luis Trevino (Cynthia) of Plainview; granddaughters, Elizenda Benavides of San Antonio , Marisabelle and Miranda Trevino of Lubbock, and Mercedes Trevino of Austin.
