Ball, James F.

James F. Ball, 81, passed away March 11, 2016 in Plainview, Texas. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Monday March 14, 2016 from 6-7 P.M. with a rosary following at 7 P.M at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

James was born August 20, 1934 in Nazareth, Texas to Leo and Josephine Ball. He was born and raised in Nazareth and attended school there. He went to the US Army in 1954 through 1956. On April 14, 1959 he married Evelyn Drerup in Nazareth, Texas. He worked for Excel Beef Packers for 30 years and retired in 1997. He worked as a Plant Slaughter Manager for 20 years. He was honored by the Texas South Plains Honor Flight in 2015. After he retired he had hobbies of feeding cattle, raising cattle and also drinking coffee with his friends. He was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He attended St. Alice Catholic Church and was also a long member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Urban Ball.

He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Ball of Plainview, TX, one daughter; Karen Ball of Amarillo, TX six sons; Douglas Ball and wife Rosa of Plano, TX, Larry Ball and wife Jackie of Plainview, TX, Jack Ball and wife Nila of Plainview, TX, Harold Ball of Brush, CO, Dale Ball and wife Angie of Amarillo, TX and Rodney Ball and wife Jessica of Lubbock, TX one brother; Freddie Ball of Nazareth, TX two sisters; Mary Kleman and husband C.D of Nazareth and Esther Braddock of McKinney, TX; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
