Valencia, Pablo G. (Paul)

Pablo "Paul" G. Valencia, 58, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Arsenio Redulla as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Paul was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Sonora, Texas, to Rafael and Rita (Perez) Valencia. He played football for Sonora High School and graduated in 1977. He married Sara Gamboa on June 24, 1978, in Plainview. They raised a beautiful family together and Sara will miss him dearly. Paul was a hard working truck driver. He worked for Max Jones Farms for more than 15 years. He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. His family describes him as a loving father and grandfather who always let his family know how important they were to him. He treasured each and every one of his children and grandchildren. He loved camping and cooking outdoors. He also had two precious dogs that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rafael Valencia Jr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Sara of the home; one daughter, Selena Asencio and husband Marselino of Plainview; three sons, Paul Valencia Jr. and wife Ivy of Plainview, Christopher Valencia and wife Michelle of Marietta, Georgia and Rafael Valencia and wife Marina of Plainview. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Layla, Ethan, Shawn, Enora, Angelyssa, Jacob, Analiyah, Avery and Aaron. He will be missed greatly also by his terrier, Snickers and his Chihuahua, BooBoo.
