Sepeda, Jose, Mrs. (Aurora Baca)

Aurora Sepeda, 78, of Hale Center, passed away on February 20, 2016.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview. The family will receive visitors from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Aurora Baca Sepeda was born on September 21, 1937 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, to Demetrio and Juanita (Garza) Baca. She married Jos? Sepeda in July, 1957. They raised a beautiful family and enjoyed over 58 years together.

Aurora was a loving, kind mother. She loved to cook and bake and found great satisfaction in feeding anyone who came into her home. Upon entering her home, you were quickly offered a glass of her iced tea. She took great pride in being a homemaker and generously served anyone who came to visit. Aurora and Jos?'s love story was one like none other. They were soul mates throughout their marriage. They were best friends to the very end. She and Jos? were members of the Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Joe Sepeda; two brothers, Demetrio Baca, Jr. and Luis Garza; one sister, Clara Lopez and one nephew, Chad Lopez.

Survivors include her husband Jos? of the home; one son, David Sepeda of Hale Center; three daughters, Barbara McDonald and husband Kevin of Omaha, Nebraska, Rosalie Perez of Cotton Center and Cookie Sepeda and Albert Castillo of Hale Center; one brother, Pat Baca of Hale Center and one sister, Helen Diaz of Olton. Aurora is also survived and will be missed by all of her grandchildren, Gabriel, Clarissa, Hannah, Sara, Bridget, Roy, Joseph, Brandi, Kimberli, Rachel, Nehemiah, Benjamin, Zachariah and Alexandria as well as 21 great grandchildren.
