Gatlin, George Aleck

George Aleck Gatlin, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. There will be a celebration memorial of his life at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors with Rev. Eddie Tubbs officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Gatlin was born on March 14, 1929, in Cement, Oklahoma, to Jodie Alexander and Willa Mae Gatlin. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Phillips Petroleum Company from 1952 until 1994. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Alexander and Willa Mae Gatlin, his daughter, Rhonda Lewene Gatlin Walker, three brothers and two sisters. His legacy that he leaves behind is his daughter, Treva Gatlin James; his son-in-law Dr. Jimmy James; his granddaughter, Dr. Amy James Klein; his grandson, Dr. Jeff James; his great-grandson, Alexander Klein and his great-granddaughter, Ayla Klein.
