Elma Sandoval, 83, of Plainview passed away on Dec. 16, 2015. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Elma was born on Feb. 1, 1932, in Ballinger, Texas, to Ezequiel and Macaria (Lara) Gomez. She has lived in Plainview since her family moved here in 1946. She worked for years at Wayland University in the housekeeping department. Elma took great pleasure in her nieces and nephews. She often claimed them as her own and was an integral part of their raising. She and her sisters were best friends and they loved spending time together and eating out as much as three times a week! She loved watching telenovelas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her beloved sisters, Dolores Garcia and husband Pedro and Francis Loredo and husband Arthur, all of Plainview; one brother, Eziquel Gomez Jr. of Abilene; seven nieces, Linda Sue Hernandez, Vanessa Lara, Kimberly Loredo, Kelly DeLeon, Christina Martinez, Sandra Vasquez and Michelle Trevi?o; two nephews, Pete Garcia and Arthur Loredo Jr. Online condolences may be made at www.lemonsfunerals.com.
