Obituary
Richard "Indio" Escobar, 68, of Plainview, passed away on February 11, 2015 in Plainview. Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday February 15, 1965 in Lemons Memorial Chapel. He was born on March 13, 1946 in Ballinger, Texas to the late Louis and Erlinda (Quirino) Escobar. He married Henrietta (DeLaCerda) on April 11, 2015.
Mr. Escobar spent his life taking care of his family by working in the cotton compress mills. He enjoyed fishing, garage sales, yard work and grilling, but his greatest passion in life was his family, especially his grandkids, and great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Erlinda, and one brother; Juan Escobar. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Henrietta Escobar, four sons; Richard Escobar Jr., Ronald Escobar and wife Virginia, Rudy Escobar and wife Adryana, Randy Escobar, six daughters; Melissa Plata, Miriam Riojas and husband Johnny, Michelle Escobar and Companion Joel Jass, Marie Escobar, Miranda Fuentes and husband Joe, Marcia Roque and husband Ruben, one brother; Robert Escobar, four sisters; Elvira Fuentes, Carolyn Rocha, Mary Esther Garcia, and Adella Castro. He is also blessed with twenty-three grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
