Ramon Camarillo, 89, of Plainview passed away on Jan. 11, 2016. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Monsignor Arsenio Redulla as celebrant. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Ramon was born on Nov. 21, 1926, in Mission Texas to Vicente and Ramona (Ambrosi) Camarillo. He married Virginia Rios on July 7, 1947, and they moved their family to Plainview in 1969. They were married for 39 years until her passing in 1986. On Oct. 19, 1992, he married Celia Camarillo. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Rifleman with Heavy Machine Gun qualification during the Korean War and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Victory Medal and Ribbon. He was so proud to have been featured in the "Meet Your Neighbor" section of the Plainview Herald. He was a retired farmer who worked from sun up to sun down. Ramon was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia; one son, Danny Camarillo; two daughters, Virginia Camarillo and Veronica Martinez; and one great-granddaughter, Anessa Camarillo. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Celia of the home; two sons, Ramon Camarillo Jr. and Martin Camarillo and wife Lydia; eight grandchildren including a grandson whom he raised, Jaime Camarillo and wife Berenice; Ramon Camarillo III and wife Sylvia, Yvette Martin and husband James, Elizabeth Camarillo, Danielle Camarillo, Bridget Saenz and husband Mercy, Javier Martinez and Vanessa Martinez; two brothers, Vicente Camarillo and Arturo Martinez; three sisters, Rebecca Pulido, Rita Camarillo and Maria Camarillo and one son-in-law, Rolando Martinez.
