Bechtold, Charles Lee
Charles Bechtold, 65, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, in Plainview. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at the Northwest Church of Christ. Interment followed at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Charles was born on Feb. 18, 1950, in Plainview, Texas, to Louis and Emily Bechtold. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. Charles worked in radio sales but also worked tirelessly volunteering for the Powerhouse of the Plains Band with the Band Boosters and many other organizations. He also worked with the Boy Scouts. He did so much behind the scenes and without any fanfare. He will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife Judy Bechtold of Plainview; a son, Michael Bechtold of Plainview; brother, Fred Bechtold and wife Susan of Plainview; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and a host of people he called his friend.
