Fudge, Dorris Regan

Hale Center-- Graveside services for Dorris Fudge, 72, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hale Center Cemetery with the Rev. Carroll Green, pastor of First Baptist Church in Loop, officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Ms. Fudge died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, in Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a sudden illness.

She was born Oct. 27, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo. She was lovingly known as "Mamma Fudge" and had dedicated her life to caring for her daughter and volunteering for MH/MR and the Special Olympics. She had lived in Plainview before moving to Colorado Springs in May of 2002.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Marsha Fudge of Monument, Colo.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Fudge of Colorado Springs and Sally and Terry Wright of Hale Center; her children's father, Chester Fudge of Hale Center; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

A son, Richard Fudge; a brother, Joe Russell Regan; and a sister, Nedra Wallace, are deceased.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Special Olympics, 1318 13th St., Lubbock, TX 79401.
