Services for James Covey, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel in Amarillo with Joe Wilson, elder of Canyon Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Plainview Memorial Park by Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo.
Mr. Covey died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003.
He was born in 1917 and married Jean Elizabeth Dresser in August 1942. She died in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Plainview in 1954 where he and his brother operated Covey's Garage for many years. He was an active member of the Evening Lions Club of Plainview.
Survivors include three sons, James of Las Vegas, Nev., Wayne of Amarillo and Gary of Redlands, Calif.; one sister, Lucielle Morsenbocker of Wellington; four brothers, A.W. of Sweetwater, R.A. Jr. of Amarillo, Fred of Wellington and Jack of Torrance, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to a favortie charity.
