Young, Elvin, Mrs. (Joice Winnel Clover)

Funeral services for Joice Winnell Young, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young died at 11:42 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at her residence.

She was born July 8, 1939, in Mills County. She married Elvin Young on June 21, 1959, in Plainview. He died Feb. 16, 2001.

Mrs. Young worked for Kmart for 21 years.

She was a den mother of Cub Scout Pack 201 in Kress and was inducted into the Haynes District Boy Scouts Hall of Fame in February 1994.

She was active in Kress PTA, leader of Acteens for First Baptist Church in Kress, member of the Home Demonstration Club and an active member of Seth Ward Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Mike Ferguson of Plainview; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Young of Plainview and Lester Young of Kress; her mother, Altha Clover of Plainview; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Bonnie and L.V. Youngblood of Weatherford, Nelda and Donnie Hopkins of Jacksboro, Eunice and Kenneth Frost of Arlington, Sue McKinney of Amarillo and Judy Clover of Dallas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five nieces; five nephews; and one aunt, Nettie Daugherty of Austin.

Her father, Thomas E. "Tom" Clover, died on April 8, 1992.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home and suggests memorials to VistaCare Family Hospice, 4418 Olton Road, Plainview, TX 79072 or Seth Ward Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund, 601 E. 24th St., Plainview, TX 79072.
