Obituary

Carlton Marvin Young, 91, of Plainview died on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in Plainview. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Gabe Moudy officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 8, 2013, at the funeral home. Carlton was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Merlins, Texas, to T.Y. and Pearl House Young. He married Bessie Mae Wylie on April 5, 1947. She preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2002. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Brain and husband Steve of Plainview, and Linda Millette and husband Rick of Vermillion, S.D.; one son, Marvin Young and wife Sharon of Hereford; three brothers, Billy Tom Young of Plainview, Mearl Young of Shawnee, Okla., and Earl Young of Friona; one sister, Audrey Mahagan of Claytonville; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
