Obituary

Funeral services for Raul Galvan Ybarra Sr., 87, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Miguel Contreras, assisted by the Rev. Glen Godsey, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Ybarra died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Mercury to Juan and Guadalupe Galvan Ybarra. He married Felipa Pequeno on Nov. 29, 1941, in Slaton. He was a farmer and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raul Ybarra Jr., Joe Ybarra and Jesse Ybarra, all of Plainview; two sisters, Martina and Juana; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. His parents; one son, Pete Ybarra; four brothers; and four sisters are deceased.
