Alex Ybarra, 47, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Elias Diaz officiating. Cremation service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Alex was born on July 22, 1965, in Kingsville to Irineo Ybarra Jr. and Adelina (Buentello) Ybarra. Alex was an extremely hardworking man and very skillful with his hands. He was a jack-of-all-trades handyman who was always willing to do for others whatever he could. Alex had a big heart and he loved animals. He would take in strays and care for them. He was a very loving son and brother who was very considerate and helpful. His favorite hobby was going fishing. He attended New Life Church. Alex is survived by his mother, Adelina Betancourt, and his stepfather, Joe Betancourt, of Plain?view; brothers and sisters: Irineo Ybarra III and his wife, Estella; Daniel Ybarra and his wife, Sandra; Diane Alvarez and her husband, Rolando; Rebecca Betancourt and her husband, Joe Alvarez; Jerry Betancourt and his wife, Christina; Edward Betancourt and his wife, Lisa.
