Obituary

Memorial services for Glenn Yates, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Yates died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at 1:10 a.m. at his residence. He was born July 18, 1931, in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1951-1953 during the Korean War on the USS Missouri. After the war, he returned to Plainview and worked for Rowland-Gordon Fertilizer Co. He began farming in 1972 and retired in 1998. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Plainview Country Club and was an avid golfer. On Aug. 23, 1952, he married Susan McCulloch in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; one son, Mack Yates of Lubbock; and a sister, Alice Ann Goode of Raleigh, N.M. The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church or to a favorite charity.
