Obituary

Funeral services for Winifred Yarbrough, 85, of Odessa, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with John McCourt of Havana, Ark., officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Yarbrough died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in Sherwood Place in Odessa. Mrs. Yarbrough was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Her family moved to Texas when she was a young child and she attended school in Memphis, Texas, and surrounding areas. She was a former resident of Plainview for many years. She married Howard Lee Yarbrough on Jan. 14, 1936, and they raised their family in Plainview and attended Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Doris Hearn of Plainview; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole Ann and Dave McColpin of Odessa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Patsy Yarbrough of Midland and Dwight and Kay Yarbrough of Wanette, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Her husband died in June 1975. Her parents, Mamie and C.C. Fowler, and a great-grandson, Isreal Shawn Smith, also are deceased.
