Obituary

Funeral services for Bernice Dallinger Wright, 89, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Wright died at 2:20 a.m. Monday, May 31, 2004, in Southwest Regional Center. She was born April 1, 1915, in Plainview. She graduated from Plainview High School, attended Wayland Baptist University and received a bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University. She taught school in Floydada and Plainview until retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Harmony Sunday School Class and was active in United Methodist Women, the Iva Wheeler Circle, the Woman's Club, former member of the Travel Study Club, Retired Teachers and Turf Turner's Garden Club. On June 3, 1940, she married Leslie Morgan Wright in Plainview. Survivors include her husband of Lubbock; three sons, Douglas G. Wright of Lafayette, La., Ralph Wright of Lubbock and Dale Wright of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Alfred Dallinger of Fredericksburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, Ralph Dallinger, and a sister, Esther Dallinger Chumrey, are deceased.
