Obituary

Gwen Womack, 82, of Plainview passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church of Plainview. Pastor David Hawkins will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family immediately following the service. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Gwen Janice Lloyd Womack was born on Oct. 4, 1931, in Webber, Kan., to Wendell Graham and Eunice (Busey) Graham. Gwen married B.J. Lloyd at First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, Texas, on Dec. 20, 1952. He passed away in 1991. Gwen and H.O. "Bud" Womack were married in 1994. He passed away in 1998. She attended Texas A&M College and graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1977 with a B.S. degree in business. She worked in the banking industry in Plainview for more than 15 years. Gwen served as president of the Junior Service League in Plainview, she was a member and an officer of the American Association of University Women and was a member of the Naomi Ruth Women's Circle at First Presbyterian Church. Gwen was a great cook and an accomplished artist. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Plainview. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Gwen is survived by her children, Lisa Kersh and her husband, Karnald, of Plainview; B.J. Lloyd Jr. and his wife, Penny, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and Paige Trotter and her husband, Mike, of Lubbock; grandchildren, Kolt Kersh of Pleasanton; Kade Kersh of Plainview; Chad Lloyd and his wife, Brooke, and great-granddaughter, Parker, of Austin; Nesi Lloyd of Austin; Melissa Lloyd of Horseshoe Bay; Shayne Trotter of Lubbock; and Kolby Trotter of Midland; and her sister, Paula Hiett and her husband, Orrie Hiett of Toledo, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Beverly Wheeless.
