Obituary

Ruby Belle Wofford, 96, of Plainview passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 20, 2013, at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 4 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Wofford was born May 7, 1917, in Wise County to Victor Dee and Effie Turner Harris. She worked in retail sales for many years including Jack & Jill, Marse & Son, Anthony's and Jean's Dress Shop. Mrs. Wofford was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and served with the Plainview Hospital Auxiliary as a Pink Lady. She is survived by one son, Jerry Wofford and wife Retta of Plainview; grandchildren, Kim and Lanny Carthel, Kaci and Gary Tucker, Kurt and Jennifer Wofford, Keila and Joe Gibson, Vicky and Kevin Knapp, Debbie Wofford Stewart, Mark and Amy Leatherman, and Kevin and Anna Leatherman; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmie Dee Wofford; one daughter, Judy Leatherman; two sisters and two brothers.
