Obituary

Funeral services for Charles Winterburn Sr., 62, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Winterburn died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born July 25, 1940, in Rock Island, Ill. He grew up in Comstock, Mich., and attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He lived in La Grange for 17 years and moved to Plainview in 2001. He was retired from Sun Chemical Co., and was a member of First United Methodist Church. On Dec. 15, 1967, he married Nancy Webb in Houston. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sherry Browers of Hastings, Mich., and Leslie Jorge of Deer Field Beach, Fla.; a son, Charles Winterburn Jr., of Lubbock; a brother, John Winterburn of Kalamazoo; a sister, Hazel Winterburn of West Allis, Wis.; five grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Zora Webb of Plainview.
