Wines, Alpha Omega (Alf), Mrs. (Laura Mae Childress)

Funeral services for Laura Wines, 91, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Wines died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011. She was born March 24, 1920, in the Cahill community near Alvarado to Charles and Mable Childress. On June 1, 1941, she married A.O. Wines in Chillicothe. He died in 1983. She was a beautician, homemaker and longtime member of Plainview First United Methodist Church and Wesley Sunday School Class. Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, James and Mack Childress; and one sister, Freda Sargeant.
