Wimberly, Marjorie N. Tilson

Funeral services for Marjorie Tilson Wimberly, 70, of Houston will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Ms. Wimberly died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24 1998 in Kingwood Medical Center in Houston.

She was born Feb. 26 1928, in Plainview where she grew up and attended schools. She graduated from Plainview High School with honors in May of 1948.

While attending Baylor, she was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She was Board Certified as a Registered Nurse by the state of Texas in Nov. of 1948. During her 50-year Career in nursing, she worked at several hospitals including Hendricks in Abilene, Spahn in Corpus Christi, St. Anthony?s in Amarillo and Green Acres Nursing Home in Houston.

She was a Methodist.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Debra Wimberly, Richard and Judy Wimberly and Mark and Brenda Wimberly, all of Houston; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Dorothy Tilson of Odessa, H.A. and Jean Tilson of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Dick and Betty Tilson of Columbia, MO.; and 8 grandchilden.
