Obituary

Funeral services for Lena Beatrice Willis, 96, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Ray Spradling, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Willis died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Plainview Healthcare Center. She was born Feb. 16, 1908, in Big Sandy and was raised there. She moved to Oklahoma in 1919. She married Rufus E. Willis on Dec. 30, 1925, and they moved to Plainview in 1936. He died Nov. 2, 1983. She was a Realtor for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Melba Jo Willis of Plainview, Wayne Laverne Willis of Plainview and John and Sharon Willis of Austin; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
