Obituary

LaVerne Williamson, 98, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Lemons Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Interment will follow the service in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Blanche LaVerne Williamson was born on Oct. 23, 1914, in Purdy, Okla., to O.V. "Virge" and Minnie (King) Kay. LaVerne and R.C. (Dick) Williamson were married on Nov. 20, 1931, in Pauls Valley, Okla. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2008. They moved from Pauls Valley in 1937 to the Aiken area. They lived at Halfway and Edmonson, where they farmed, for 60 years. LaVerne resided at Plainview Health Care since August 2008. She was a member of the Methodist Church. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Omega "Mickey" Baker of Abernathy, and Ova Lee McInroe and husband Bill of Levelland; one son, Eddie Williamson and wife Eva of Amarillo; three brothers and one sister, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
