Obituary

Funeral services for Harold Loyd Williams Sr., 81, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Baptist Church with the Rev. M.L. White officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Williams died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born June 23, 1927, in Liberty, Miss., to Henry and Francis Williams. He married Mignon Martin on Jan. 29, 1949, in Liberty, Miss. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1946. He lived in Plainview since 1952. He worked for Haynes Machinery and retired from WF Larson's in October 2005. He attended United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold L. and Wonda Williams Jr., of Dallas; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
