Obituary

Graveside services for Orvil Wilhelm, 81, of Kress, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Wilhelm died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Kress. He was born July 18, 1923, in Mesquite, Okla., to Douglas and Lauri Wilhelm. He and his wife, Hazel, married in 1975 in Clovis, N.M. He worked for many years at the Plainview Co-op Compress and was an umpire in the Summer Baseball Program for about 30 years. The south field at the Broadway Park baseball complex is named in his honor. Survivors include his wife; four stepsons, Joe and Ray Bradley of Plainview, Richard Bradley of Kress and Roy Bradley of Amarillo; one sister; three brothers; and six grandchildren
