Obituary

Janette Stephan Wilhelm, 50, of Nazareth, Texas, passed away from this life into her eternal glory on Friday, June 7, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Pastor Michael McDaniel officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at the Plainview Cemetery in Plainview. Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a family gathering at 7:30 p.m. at the Home Mercantile in Nazareth, Texas. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Janette was born on May 4, 1963, in Lockney, Texas, to Martin and Ruby Stephan. She graduated from Lockney High School, Clarendon Junior College and attended Texas Tech University. While living in Lubbock she met the love of her life, Dale Wilhelm. The cotton farmer had found the cotton farmer's daughter. She and Dale were married Feb. 12, 1994. They spent 19 wonderful years enjoying their life together. Even in the midst of Janette's health issues, they were able to travel and make the most of their lives. She was an animal lover, but most of all she loved her dogs. She is survived by her husband, Dale Wilhelm of Nazareth; her mother, Ruby Stephan of Coyanosa, Texas; one brother Clinton Stephan and his wife Susan of Grand Falls, Texas; and one sister Linda Branham and husband Eric of Coyanosa, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and five special friends, Shaggy, Goldie, Roxie, Kermit and Piggy. She is preceded in death by her father, Martin Stephan, and her sister, Wanda Stephan.
