Obituary
Graveside services for Faye Whittle, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Anthony Sisemore, pastor of First Baptist Church in Floydada, officiating. Burial arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Whittle died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born June 19, 1907, in Dallas County. She moved to Lubbock County in 1920 and to Hale County in 1953. She was a homemaker, a Mary Kay Cosmetic representative and an avid bowler, competing in national tournaments. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Finney. On March 3, 1928, she married Walter Clyde Whittle in Shallowater. He died Jan. 3, 1983. Survivors include one daughter, Jerry Payne of Bastrop, La.; one son, Cleo Whittle of Floydada; four half-brothers, Horace and Verlin Anglin, both of Lubbock, and John and H.C. Anglin, both of Shallowater; four grandsons, Dennis Whittle of Fort Worth, Mark Whittle of Floydada, West Whittle of Yuma, Ariz., and Dr. Anthony G. Payne and wife Sachi Tsujii Payne of Tokyo & Ajiyo, Japan; one granddaughter, Cindy Keene of Bastrop; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home before going to the cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Exodus Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 401 S. Main, Floydada, TX 79235.
