Obituary

Graveside services for former Plainview resident Murlene Whitfill, 76, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Plainview Memorial Park with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be by Lemons Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Hart officiating. Mrs. Whitfill died Friday, July 8, 2005, at Baylor Hospital in Garland. She was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Wynona, Okla., and married Bill Whitfill on Sept. 1, 1950, in Panhandle, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pastor's Class. Survivors include her husband, Bill; three daughters, Judy FitzGerald and her husband, Jim, of Plainview; Jane Nagy and her husband, Tibor, of Lubbock; and Jill Whitfill of Garland; two sons, Jimmy Whitfill and his wife, Helen, of Santa Fe, N.M., and Joe Whitfill and his wife, Christy, of Plano; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
