Whitfield, Oris Keith

Funeral services for Oris Keith Whitfield, 80, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plainview. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers.

Mr. Whitfield died Friday, July 4, 2003.

He was born in Pluto, Texas, in Ellis County in 1923. He attended schools in Olton and Plainview. He married Allie Mat Morton on March 28, 1942. Since 1961 he lived in Dumas and retired from Contel-GTE. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1009 and Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Morrison of Amarillo; a son, Ron Whitfield of Dumas; two brothers, Redis Whitfield of Odessa and Travis Whitfield of Dallas; two sisters, Mavis West of Odessa and Mozelle Johnson of Sulphur Springs; and two grandchildren. Brad Morrison of Amarillo and Kelly Morrison of Dumas.
