Obituary

Dot Ora White, 95, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, and the Rev. Kyle Brock, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Kornerstone. Mrs. White was born Oct. 10, 1914, in Wapanuka, Okla., to Oscar and Mary Lee. She lived in Plainview since she was 2 years old. Dot worked as a cafeteria manger at Thunderbird School until her retirement. She served as past president and as a member of School Food Services for many years. She married Ottis B. White on March 20, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. Mr. White preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1990. She was a longtime member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Treva Tenery and husband, Earl, of Plain?view; two daughters-in law, Martha White and Connie White of Plainview; one sister, June Young of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Darla Reese and husband, Roy, of Hale Center, Wendie Pool of Springfield Mo., Randy Tenery and wife, Valorie, of Coppell, and Rusty White, Ronny White and wife, LaQueta, Rodney White and wife, Deanne, Royce White and wife, Patty, and Chuck White, all of Plainview; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Bob Lee White and Ottis Gene White; two brothers; and five sisters.
