Inez Arleo White was born on Feb. 7, 1919, in Ft. Sumner, N.M., to Washington and Gussie (Goodgame) Beauchamp. She and Leon Aaron White were married on Aug. 5, 1939, in Paducah, Texas. Leon preceded her in death in October 2000 after 61 wonderful years of marriage. Inez worked as a press operator for many years and also ran her own business, "The Pretty Punch." She made and sold crafts and craft materials, and she was very talented in many ways. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothing for friends and family, she loved to crochet, and was a great cook and baker. She grew her own garden and canned her produce from it. She sang alto in the church choir and was director of the kitchen at Bethel Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school in the primary department at Lodi Avenue Baptist Church in Lodi, Calif., while living there. She was an excellent organist and would play while Grandpa Leon played the fiddle. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Plainview. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Inez is survived by her children: the Rev. Eugene White and his wife Betty of Moses Lake, Wash.; Ray Dean White and his wife Glenda of Anson, Texas; Vickie Sue Harbour and her husband Ron of Clovis, Calif.; and Cleta Eldridge of Petersburg, Texas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leon; son-in-law, Kenneth Eldridge; three brothers; and two grandsons. The family suggests donations in Inez's name to Hospice Hands of West Texas, 305 N. Main St., Lockney, TX 79241. Online condolences may be made at www.lemonsfunerals.com.
