Obituary

Memorial services for Charles Whitacre Sr., 73, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Whitacre died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001. He was born May 26, 1928, in Lorenzo and graduated from Plainview High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. He worked for Southwestern Public Service Co., for 38 years, retiring in 1990. he was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church and a member of I.E.E.E. He married Charlie Marie Casey on July 17, 1945, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lee Naron of Plainview; a son, Charles of Salado; and six grandchildren, Kyle Whitacre, Nicole Whitacre, Adam Naron, Rachel Naron, Katie Naron and Jacob Naron.
